One of the few remaining clothing manufacturers in Liverpool IOMA CLOTHING of Speke led the way at our annual awards to recognise companies contributions to Corporate Social Responsibility. Ioma, based in Woodend Avenue, won the top award for companies with more than 50 employees. Dr Joe Adamson, chair of the judging panel, said: "Ioma have worked hard with local schools to give young people opportunities in the workplace. They also show a real commitment to the environment through recycling initiatives." Top award for companies with fewer than 50 employees went to CDP Print Management of Rose Lane. "CDP shows a commitment to its workforce, supports local charities and works hard to be a good corporate citizen," said Dr Adamson. Runners-up were shopping outlet New Mersey Retail Park and communication specialists Northern River Productions. The awards, sponsored by Eli Lilly and Company, are designed to encourage companies in South Liverpool to show responsibility to their community, their workforce and the environment. Entry is restricted to companies who are members of South Liverpool Business Leaders. |
